Moreover, oat beta-glucan is a type of viscous fiber that will give you the feeling of fullness. A certain study reports that oatmeal can help enhance the fullness hormone in your body that’s also called the PYY.

Oats are also known to have a high level of antioxidants. The function of these antioxidants is to ensure that fatty acids do not turn rancid. It is these antioxidants that might also improve your heart health and reduce your blood pressure.

It was also found that taking cocoa-rich products reduced diastolic blood pressure by at least 2.5 mmHg. Dark chocolate is also shown to reduce the chances of encountering heart complications.

Blueberries

Not many people are aware of the health benefits of blueberries and that they have a lot of antioxidants and nutrients. Best of all, they taste delicious, so you should not have any problem with consuming blueberries.

FRAP indicates that for every 3.5 ounces or 100 grams of blueberries, you will get 9.2 mmol of antioxidants. That is enough to keep your health in check. Studies also show that when compared to some of the most common vegetables and fruits, blueberries contain the highest amounts of antioxidants.

Animal and test-tube studies have been carried out, and they point out that antioxidants contained in blueberries are great - as they might help delay the decline in your brain function. This is a natural process that will happen as you age, but you can reduce its rate if you consume more blueberries.

What happens is that blueberries will help neutralize the free radicals in the brain so that the inflammation is reduced. Due to that, the change in the expression of certain genes in your brain will not happen easily.
