Candida is a form of yeast that naturally occurs in the human gut. Found in small amounts in the stomach and intestines, they are generally harmless. However, a medical condition that leads to the use of antibiotics or a suppressed immune system can cause Candida, particularly the Candida albicans variety, to grow and multiply rapidly.

Obtain kefir grains, place them in a jar in a relatively warm place, and add water or milk depending on the amount you need and cover with a porous material to allow breathing. In 12 to 24 hours there should be a thick liquid that separates into whey and curds. Stir up the liquid and filter to obtain your kefir probiotic.
Yogurt
Pure natural yogurt, particularly yogurt made from goats milk is very rich in beneficial gut flora. Goats milk contains bifudus, thermophillus, bulgaricus and acidophilus bacteria that replenish the gut and contain Candida overgrowth.
It is important to remember that only natural yogurt is beneficial. Yogurt that contains additives, preservatives and artificial sweeteners is greatly deprived and of little help. Its advisable to make your own yogurt to benefit maximumly from the mentioned bacteria.
Sauerkraut
Also known as sour cabbage, sauerkraut, the most famous German food, is made by fermenting cabbage using lactic acid bacteria, e.g. lactobacillus. The bacteria give the cabbage a sour taste hence the name sauerkraut. Once fermented, filtration can be done to obtain the liquid version. Apart from containing lactic acid bacteria, the drink is also low in fat and high in vitamin C.
Miso Soup
Miso is a traditional Japanese food made primarily by fermenting soybeans using red yeast rice. It can also be made mainly from barley, rye or rice. Fermentation can take anywhere from a couple of days to years with the addition of fresh soybeans or other foods.
Adding warm water to this fermented food makes a probiotic rich soup. Miso is also attributed to possess an antioxidant genisten - that inhibits the growth and spread of cancerous cells. Breast cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer and Candida overgrowth can all be prevented by taking one bowl of miso soup per day.
Kimchi
The Korean version of Sauerkraut with green onions, cucumbers, radishes and chili, kimchi is extremely spicy. It is rich in vitamins A, B and C. Its also rich in calcium and iron. By far its greatest benefit though is its live bacteria - lactobacilli. These bacteria make the fermented spicy cabbage very healthy in regulating infection causing yeast such as Candida.
