Oils For Problematic Hair

Trusted Health Products

Essential oils are used for a wide range of products and purposes - and hair care is just one of them. There are several oils that are ideal for certain hair problems. They are all easy to obtain, and when mixed properly, can be quite safe to use.

As with many products there is a risk of reaction or irritation, so testing before use on a small patch is often recommended. There are oils to encourage hair growth, clear up dandruff and dry scalp, as well as some to help hair grow stronger.

Lavender And Peppermint Oil for problematic hair

Lavender oil is widely used in shampoos and hair care not only for its scent but also for its ability to reduce stress and encourage cell growth with the added benefit of being antibacterial and maintaining scalp health. When hair growth is the goal peppermint essential oil is also quite productive.

When applied to the skin it often causes a tingling sensation that accompanies the stimulation of the cells through increased blood flow. This increase in circulation provides increased supply of nutrients to the scalp and the hair follicles, increasing the growth of the hair itself.

Rosemary And Tea Tree Oil for problematic hair

Rosemary assists in hair growth by assisting with new cell growth and helping hair grow longer, stronger and thicker. Another option for improving growth as well as hair strength is clary sage oil - or tea tree oil.

When using tea tree oil the antibacterial and antimicrobial effects cleanse the scalp and hair and reduce any build-up that can clog pores, allowing the hair to grow easily and quickly.

Ylang-Ylang, Cedarwood And Lemongrass for problematic hair

To treat a dry scalp and be rid of dandruff there are a few oils that stand out. Ylang-ylang doesn’t add moisture but stimulates the skin’s production of sebum, which increases the moisture in the skin and reduces dry skin.

Another solution for dandruff is lemongrass, though it may require frequent use to receive the best results. Cedarwood also has antibacterial effects which can assist in balancing the oil produced and can treat the underlying concerns that lead to dandruff or that can increase hair loss.

As the use of essential oils is researched, they are found to be useful for many purposes. One is to create healthy hair and scalp, encouraging hair to grow faster, healthier, and stronger.

Each oil offers different benefits with just the right fit for many hair problems. From treating dandruff to reducing hair loss and keeping the pores and hair follicles clean and free of build-up, they can allow hair to grow quickly and remain healthy.

All oils should be used as directed and diluted appropriately, but there are several ready-made products available that have the essential oils already incorporated in them.
