A toner is often used between skin cleansing and moisturizing. A regular toner will help with closing the pores to keep germs and dirt out and leave skin fresh and ready for hydration. An exfoliating toner also has a chemical exfoliator included that helps remove buildup and leave pores cleared and closed, keeping the skin bright, clear, and healthy.
Reduce acne with exfoliating toners
An exfoliating toner is a great alternative to abrasive scrubs and other physical exfoliators. They are easier on the skin and are less damaging to capillaries or cells.
Chemical exfoliators remove the buildup from within pores and decrease the excess oil from the surface of the skin. This reduces acne occurrences while evening the skin tone and maintaining a clear surface and healthy glow.
Improve hydration levels with exfoliating toners
It also improves the hydration levels of the skin, and as a fluid, is able to soak deep into the layers to improve skin health. They boost the hydration levels deep within the skin’s layers and add hydration from the bottom layer out. With a reduction in buildup and an addition of hydration the skin is healthier and replenishes quickly.
Skin types and exfoliating toners
Used as a regular toner it can be added to the skincare routine between a cleanser and a moisturizer. Safe to use morning and evening, it requires little change to the regular routine but it may be harsh for those with dry or sensitive skin.
The frequency of how often it should be used can vary by season or age. With no damage or risks it can be used more often during increased oil production and reduced when skin appears dry or damaged.
It is recommended for those with oily skin or who wear thick make-up regularly to reduce the film or oil on the skin. It keeps the pores clear of these products and allows the other skincare products to better complete their tasks.
While there are many skincare options available there are always some that will work better for different needs. For those with dry or sensitive skin a physical exfoliator may be too strong and can cause damage to the skin.
For those who have oily skin or who wear a lot of make-up it can be helpful as it can be used daily and will assist in maintaining the oil-free surface and clean pores. As the pores remain clear of buildup there are fewer cases of acne and buildup, so it can maintain the size of pores and reduce blemishes and discoloration.
An exfoliating toner is a toner that includes a chemical exfoliator but is used the same as a regular toner is. They are easily available and can be added into an already established skincare routine. It is easy and safe to use, and will help to keep the skin clear and healthy.
