5 Things To Know About Rashes

Sun, Oct 21, 18 . Kenneth Melicado

Rashes are a commonly occurring problem and can occur in different ways depending on the contributing factors. All extreme weathers come with their own baggage of skin rashes along with other diseases that cause skin rash as well.

Skin rash is the body's way of saying that something is affecting the skin. The human skin acts as a barrier between the human body and external environments and rash is generally caused by severe skin irritation that has its roots in multiple factors.

Rashes And Clothes

Rashes are generally caused by clothing that irritates skin and clothes that are too tight. If a persons clothing reacts adversely to their skin, then the effects will start showing in less than 48 hours.

Skin rash is also caused by clothes that are not properly washed. This condition is called contact dermatitis and is characterized by a mild redness and pimplish external surface. In extreme cases, the situation can lead to redness, swelling and even blisters with puss. Rashes are very rarely an internal matter. The location of your rash should help you understand the cause. They can be caused by tight fitting clothes, contact with allergic substance on cloth or any other external factor.

Contact Dermatitis

Contact dermatitis as mentioned above - is a specific conditioned reaction to certain materials. This means that if a person develops an allergy to a certain chemical, clothing material or any other external substance that allergy will show itself much faster on the next contact than it did in the initial contact. This skin condition is not severe or contagious but it is itchy and it can develop into something severe if precautions are not taken.

Common reasons for this condition include poison ivy, oak and sumac, as well as soaps, detergents, shampoos, perfumes, cosmetics and lotions. Certain jewelry or fabric can cause allergies, and new tools and appliances can be also allergic. Some people are born allergic to latex rubber while others may develop an allergy to latex eventually due to prolonged exposure. This allergy causes severe reaction if exposed for prolonged duration.

Diseases

Rashes also occur as a symptom of much more potent diseases, such as liver diseases, kidney diseases and cancer. They also come about as reactions to viral and fungal infections such as herpes, yeast infections and impetigo. They may also occur in cases of sexually transmitted diseases.

Animal Bites

Rashes can occur when a person is bitten or stung by an animal, an insect or a parasite. When a person lives too close to a natural environment, these insect bites and parasitic contacts occur frequently.

Symptoms

Rashes can also be a symptom of chronic dermatological conditions such as eczema, acne, psoriasis or seborrhic dermatitis. But some common causes include heat; cold, tough weather conditions; and emotional stress. Severe emotional stress can also lead to development of rash and allergy.

Rarely do medicines cause allergic reactions that can lead to development of rashes on skin but this condition is called toxic epidermal necrolysis and it results from use of sulphur drugs. It can cause human skin to peel leaving exposed tissue that looks like a burn.

Rashes come in different ways and occur due to multiple factors, but it is important to reach the root cause and attend to it. Rashes can spread in a few days and leave a permanent mark. They can also lead to a complicated and permanent skin condition.
