Breathing is quickly becoming a popular mode of health management that people are discovering. As it turns out, being mindful of your breathing has many benefits that you should know about.

These days, everyone has a smartphone, and there are even apps that give you notifications to take time out of your day to be mindful and breathe appropriately. These apps will even guide you in your breathing and see how your heart rate is doing.

When you really research proper breathing techniques for health management, you discover that it is a reasonable way to manage stress and health in a world that is constantly pulling at you. Exercise and eating right are the primary ways to improve your health, but you might not always have these routes available.

For example, being at work means that you might not have a way to exercise or eat right at your fingertips. However, breathing techniques are things that people can do anywhere at any time. Here are four breathing techniques that you should try today to improve your health and reduce your stress more.

1. Breathing for Pain

One of the most common uses for breathing appropriately and using the right techniques is for pain. People are discovering other nontraditional ways to manage their pain, such as using essential oils from oil companies, such as the one founded by D Gary Young.

Breathing techniques for pain have been around for some time, but now, it's getting more popular. One way to do this is to practice "belly breathing." You do this by simply lying on the ground, placing one hand on your stomach, and as you breathe, feel your hand going up and down. While on the go, you can breathe deeply, pushing the air out of your lungs.

2. Breathing for Tight Muscles

Another common problem that people experience is tight muscles. All day long, you're doing things that are putting strain on your muscles. You're lifting, pushing and pulling. Techniques needed for muscle tension are needed.

You can do this technique by bending over slightly and letting your hands dangle. Inhale deeply and slowly, then return to a standing position slowly, as well. Also, doing a little stretching as you breathe deeply throughout your day goes a long way. Breathing deeply releases the tension in your muscles at a faster rate.

3. Breathing to Relax

When it comes to stress levels, this is a common issue. People are feeling the stress of work, finances and relationships. There are all kinds of ways that you can relax and feel at ease, but breathing is a technique that you can do on the go from anywhere.

Focused breathing at least 20 minutes a day can lower your heart rate and work other wonders in your body. Try closing your eyes and imagining yourself smiling. Then, let your shoulders hang, and breathe out deeply and slowly.

Take in the air, and imagine it flowing through your feet, up to your legs and into your stomach. Imagine the air being warm and filling your body. This is a great way to reduce stress.

4. Breathing for Energy

Because of the food people eat, along with a stressful lifestyle, they feel a lack of energy that keeps them from doing important things in their life, such as spending more time with their families.

Try focused breathing to improve your energy levels by sitting up in a relaxed position, then breath quickly in and out through your nose at a fast rate. Do this for about 10 seconds, then rest for about 30 seconds. This could get your heart rate up and get your blood pumping.

Again, this could be done from anywhere. Truly, practicing these breathing techniques can improve your overall health. All it takes is a little mindfulness of your breathing and focusing your energy on more positive techniques. Do this today and watch your stress levels reduce and your energy rise.
