There are many benefits that are associated with birch oil. The oil that comes from a birch tree tends to be of two different types - either white birch or silver birch. They have similar properties as far as their ability to heal and what they can positively impact.
The properties of birch oil are deeply antiseptic, astringent, antidepressant, detoxifying and stimulating among a whole slew of others. This means that it can be used for many different things and has the ability to be transformative across multiple realms. Here are all the ways that birch oil can be used.
Wound Healing
Due to the antibacterial and antiseptic properties of this oil, it's great to put on wounds. Whether it's a scratch, scrape or burn, this oil can help speed the process of healing. Not only is it great for healing wounds quickly but it also helps to lessen the pain that is associated with these minor injuries.
If you are feeling severe muscle or nerve pain on or around your wound, a bit of this oil will have it dissipating in no time. It can also be used to prevent joints from swelling if you suffer from a broken bone.
Oral Health Aid
The health of your teeth and your gums are of paramount importance. Unfortunately, some people don't take their mouths as seriously as they should. Due to its antibacterial and astringent properties, birch oil is a great way to treat a myriad of oral health issues.
Do you have bad breath or weak gums? This is the oil for you. Just a couple of drops of birch oil in a cup of warm water, used as a gargle, will improve the status and health of your mouth. Do this after brushing and flossing your teeth daily.
If you have a toothache or some soreness in a specific spot, you can put a bit of birch oil directly on it to help alleviate the pain and ward off any potential infections.
Great For Hair
Birch oil is very nourishing and can be used to help hair grow. Many people who are struggling with thinning hair or balding find this oil incredibly helpful. It also is known to prevent dandruff and help to enrich and fortify the hair follicles. Create an oil mix with some of the best oils for hair like birch, ylang ylang, rosemary, lemon and lavender.
Mix them all together with olive or coconut oil and rub your scalp with the mixture. You can also put a few drops of the birch oil in your everyday shampoo if you prefer. You'll start to see a big improvement in how your hair looks and feels.
Skin Conditions
If you suffer from a skin condition like eczema or psoriasis, this oil can be a great aid. Mixing a bit of sweet almond oil with birch and frankincense oil helps to clear up the germs that can sometimes get caught in inflamed skin. This will not only kill the germs but also help to heal the skin quickly.
