Hair loss is a source of concern for many. Some experience hair loss because of aging or genetics. Others experience hair loss in response to stress, changes in diet, medication, or illness.

The underlying cause of hair loss must be accurately identified in order to find treatments that will be the most effective. The following are four healthy ways to deal with hair loss.

Eat More Protein

There was a study released in 2017 that showed a link between protein intake and hair loss. According to this study, a good number of individuals battling with hair loss had low protein and low amino acid intakes. Further research is being done to find more links between nutritional deficiencies and hair loss.

Using Scalp Massage Promotes Hair Growth

There was small study performed in 2016 that showed that individuals who received regular scalp massages may grow thicker hair. In this study participants were given four-minute scalp massages every day for 24 weeks. At the conclusion of the study the participants had thicker hair than when they began the study.

Scalp massage is beneficial because it appears to stretch the cells of hair follicles. This leads to the follicles producing thicker hair. Scalp massage will also dilate blood vessels underneath the skin, leading to increased hair growth.

Use Coconut Oil For Hair Growth

Many who are dealing with hair loss have seen the benefit of using coconut oil to promote hair growth. Coconut oil is not a magical hair growth remedy and will not produce immediate results.

Many have used custom made wigs while using coconut oil to encourage the growth of hair and strengthen it. Custom made wigs are great to pair with other hair loss remedies and can also be a natural, chemical free-remedy.

Coconut oil is full of vitamins and essential fatty acids that can nourish the scalp. It can also help remove sebum that builds up in the hair follicles, impeding hair growth.

Using Onion Juice On The Scalp

Properly caring for your scalp may prevent hair loss and encourage hair growth. In addition to keeping the scalp clean, some have seen that onion juice can have a positive effect on hair loss. It has been shown to help hair regrowth in both men and women.

In addition to some of the options mentioned above, there are commercial products on the market designed to slow hair loss and encourage hair growth. Hair loss is a common problem. However, if you are looking to regrow hair or keep the hair that you have, there are several effective options available to you.
