How To Improve Your Eyesight

Trusted Health Products

We need to concern ourselves with the quality of our eyesight more now than ever. Because every day our eyes become more strained by our increasing use of computers, phones, televisions, and soon, smart watches. If we don't want to suffer later in life, making sure we take the proper precautions to protect our eyesight now is of the upmost importance. If you want to protect your eyes, here are some recommended steps on how to do so:

Eat Right And Take Your Vitamins

It doesn't take a genius to figure out consuming the right food has benefits that go far beyond good eyesight. When we eat right, our body gets the nutrients it needs in order to function properly. According to the Dr. Oz show, here are some types of food that can help:

Yellow And Green Vegetables: Macular degeneration is the leading cause of blindness. Eating green and yellow vegetables can help protect the macula from sun damage. If you think you have macular degeneration, it is important to make an appointment and visit a board-certified ophthalmologist.

Garlic, Onions, Shallots: These are just a few examples of foods that contain sulfur, cysteine, and lecithin. You should look for foods that contain these amino acids to include in your diet because they can protect the lens of your eye from cataract formation.

Anthocyanin-Rich Blueberries, Grapes, And Goji Berries: These can help improve your vision because of their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

DHA: This is a type of fatty acid you can get from coldwater fish. With this you can improve your eye health due to their structural support of cell membranes.

Wear Sunglasses

Nothing protects like protection. Wearing sunglasses with UV protection is a great way to save your eyes. Don't be fooled though, not all sunglasses offer UV protection. Look cool and protect yourself. Make sure the glasses you buy actually offer your eyes UV protection.

Exercise Your Eyes

If you have or are worried about eye floaters - those spots in your vision - exercising your eyes is a way to keep them away. You can do this by rolling your eyes at your significant other. Just kidding, but seriously rolling your eyes is an exercise that can help.

Sleep

A little rest and relaxation is probably the easiest and most fun way to improve your eyesight. Sleep allows your eyes the time they need to rest, repair, and recover. Not getting enough sleep can weaken your vision.

Other things you can do to keep your eyes healthy are:

Keep Hydrated: Dry eyes can be itchy and irritating. Make sure to drink plenty of water. This can help reduce blurriness as well.

Take A Break: If you've been staring at your computer screen for a while and can feel your eyes straining, take a break. This will give your eyes a chance to heal themselves.

Reduce Your Screens Brightness: Let your eyes relax. If your screen is really bright, turn it down a little.

Eyes are the keys to one of the important five senses sight - and we are placing more and more strain on them every day. Make sure to take care of them. You'll thank yourself later!
